Energy Matters is looking for an Orthopedic Bodyworker to join our team. We seek a practitioner who is technically well-trained in Orthopedic Bodywork and has innate intuitive intelligence in their hands. We are not wedded to one particular method or approach; what matters most is the practitioner’s abilities and presence.
An extra plus would be someone who also has experience (or interest in developing) working with post-surgical scar tissue issues - breast reconstruction/mastectomy in particular, but all scar surgical scar complications - but this is not a requirement.
This is a part-time job initially with the potential to grow. Days/times flexible. This is an ideal opportunity for a talented bodyworker who does not want to deal with the responsibilities of running their own practice.
This Position is accountable for providing excellent health care to Energy Matters patients. Staff bodyworker is expected to provide each patient with the information needed to understand their treatment plan, to treat each patient to the best of their abilities, to document treatments via electronic notes, to follow up with patients as appropriate for continuity of care, and to communicate with other staff members as appropriate
Energy Matters is a multi-practitioner health and wellness clinic with five acupuncturists currently on staff. One of our acupuncturists specializes in orthopedics; she and our other acupuncturists frequently refer our patients to bodyworkers in the community. We anticipate the Energy Matters community of patients will be very welcoming of being able to receive bodywork in-house.
We are located in the vibrant shopping district of Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. We have on-site parking for patients and a spacious and beautiful clinic. Established in 2010, Energy Matters has a strong and loyal customer base. We provide the mentoring needed for our staff to grow their client base and flourish in their role at Energy Matters.
Pay: This is an employee position (not contractor); pay is hourly plus commission, starting at $25/hour plus a commission of $25 per each one-hour treatment.
Benefits: Sick leave, Vacation leave, Floating Holidays, Monthly Stipend for use in-house with 40% off additional products and services. All supplies provided.
